ทันทีที่บุปผชาติ (สาวิกา ไชยเดช) สาวสวยนักเรียนนอก เดินทางเหยียบแผ่นดินไทย เธอก็ได้รับข่าวร้ายว่า วราพงษ์ (พูลภัทธ อัตถปัญญาพล) แฟนหนุ่มที่รักกันมายาวนาน ตัดสินใจแต่งงานกับวิธนี (กัญญา รัตนเพชร) น้องสาวของทศ (ศุกลวัฒน์ คณารศ) มหาเศรษฐีเจ้าของไร่องุ่นไปเสียแล้ว บุปผชาติพกพาหัวใจที่บอบช้ำไปนั่งปล่อยอารมณ์คนเดียวในผับแห่งหนึ่ง และถูกมิจฉาชีพในคราบหนุ่มนักธุรกิจแอบใส่ยาในเครื่องดื่ม เพื่อล่อลวงเธอไปถ่ายคลิปเพื่อแบคเมล์
ระหว่างที่บุปผชาติครองสติไม่อยู่ เจียนถูกพาออกไปจากผับ ทศ พี่ชายของวิธนี เข้าไปช่วยเหลือได้ทันเวลา แต่บุปผชาติเมายาจนพูดจาไม่รู้เรื่อง ทำให้ทศต้องเปิดห้องพักในโรงแรมให้หญิงสาวนอนพักชั่วคราว ฤทธิ์ยาทำให้บุปผชาติ ร้องห่มร้องไห้คร่ำครวญถึงคนรักที่ทอดทิ้งไป แถมยังอาละวาดใส่ทศสารพัด จนชายหนุ่มปั่นป่วนต้องคอยจัดการให้หญิงสาวหมดฤทธิ์นอนหลับไปได้ในที่สุด ท่ามกลางค่ำคืนอันแสนสั้น ความรักถูกจุดขึ้นในหัวใจของทศอย่างรวดเร็ว เขารู้ตัวว่าได้ตกหลุมรักผู้หญิงแปลกหน้าคนนี้เสียแล้ว
บุปผชาติ รู้สึกตัวตื่นขึ้นมาในเช้าวันใหม่ เสื้อเชิ้ตของทศที่สวมอยู่บนเรือนร่างของเธอ ทำให้บุปผชาติหลงเข้าใจผิดว่าได้เสียตัวให้กับทศเสียแล้ว ยังไม่ทันที่ทศจะได้อธิบายอะไร บุปผชาติก็รีบวิ่งหนีออกจากโรงแรมด้วยความอับอาย ไม่กล้าแม้แต่จะเล่าเรื่องนี้ให้กับบุศยาภรณ์ พี่สาวที่เธอไว้วางใจ หญิงสาวได้แต่เก็บความระทมทุกข์นี้ไว้เพียงผู้เดียว และอยากให้ผู้ชายคนนี้ตายไปจากโลก
วราพงษ์ เป็นผู้ชายอ่อนแอ และโลเลไม่แน่นอน เมื่อรู้ข่าวว่าบุปผชาติกลับมาเมืองไทย จึงพยายามนัดเจอ ทันทีที่ได้พบกันบุปผชาติขอเลิกกับวราพงษ์ แต่ความรักที่ยาวนานทำให้เธอหวั่นไหวไปกับคำแก้ตัวของคนรัก เขายืนยันว่ายังรักเธอไม่เสื่อมคลาย แต่เพราะ บุปผชาติไปเรียนต่อต่างประเทศความห่างไกลทำให้เขาเผลอไผลมีสัมพันธ์ลึกซึ้งกับวิธนี จนตั้งครรภ์ เขาจำเป็นต้องแต่งงานกับวิธนีเพื่อแสดงความรับผิดชอบ และวิงวอนอย่างน่าสงสารให้บุปผชาติรอเขา
ในวินาทีที่บุปผชาติแข็งใจจะบอกเลิกให้เด็ดขาด วิธนีสะกดรอยตามมาเจอและด่าทอ ตบหน้าบุปผชาติ พูดจาเสียดแทงใจว่าบุปผชาติเป็นได้แค่เมียน้อย แย่งสามีชาวบ้านอย่างไม่มียางอาย อารมณ์โกรธทำให้บุปผชาติอยากเอาชนะ จึงสวนกลับว่าวิธนีต่างหากคือเมียน้อยตัวจริง เพราะมายื้อแย่งวราพงษ์ไป วิธนีโรคหัวใจกำเริบจนวราพงษ์ และบุปผชาติต้องรีบพาส่งโรงพยาบาล
ทศ รีบตามมาดูน้องสาว และได้เห็นภาพวราพงษ์น้องเขย จับมือบุปผชาติอย่างสนิทสนม ความผิดหวังแล่นจู่โจมหัวใจของทศ ผู้หญิงคนแรกในชีวิตที่เขาเฝ้าคิดถึง คือ บุปผชาติ ผู้หญิงที่กำลังจะเข้ามาทำลายครอบครัวของน้องสาวคนเดียวที่เขารักมากที่สุดในชีวิต คำบอกเล่าของวิธนีหลังออกจากโรงพยาบาล ยิ่งยืนยันแน่ชัดว่า บุปผชาติคิดจะแย่งวราพงษ์คืนไป
วิธนีโทรศัพท์มาหาบุปผชาติ แต่คุณหญิงบุษบา (ดวงดาว จารุจินดา) มารดาของบุปผชาติ เป็นคนรับสาย วิธนีด่าคุณหญิงให้อบรมสั่งสอนลูกอย่าให้มาแย่งสามีชาวบ้าน จนคุณหญิงตกใจเป็นลม นายพลเริงศักดิ์ (ฐาปกรณ์ ดิษยนันทน์) บิดาของบุปผชาติโกรธมาก คิดว่าลูกสาวจะไปแย่งสามีคนอื่นจริง จึงต่อว่าบุปผชาติด้วยถ้อยคำรุนแรง บุปผชาติน้อยใจพ่อ ความเป็นคนนิสัยดื้อรั้นเอาแต่ใจจึงประชดประชันว่าตนเองรักวราพงษ์ และจะไม่เลิกกับเขาเด็ดขาด (พูดด้วยอารมณ์แต่ไม่ได้ทำจริง) ความอดทนของนายพลขาดผึงจึงหลุดปากตัดขาดกับบุปผชาติ หญิงสาวหอบเสื้อผ้าออกจากบ้าน โดยไม่ฟังคำทัดทานเตือนสติของบุศยาภรณ์ผู้เป็นพี่สาวที่ไม่อยากให้น้องสาวทำผิดศีลธรรม ทำลายครอบครัวคนอื่น
คอนโดหรูหราใจกลางเมือง กลายเป็นที่หลบซ่อนตัวของบุปผชาติ เธอตั้งใจจะหลบหน้าวราพงษ์แต่สุดท้ายก็หนีไม่พ้น วราพงษ์บุกไปหาบุปผชาติถึงห้องพัก ร้องไห้เสียใจที่ไม่สามารถพรากจากบุปผชาติไปได้ ความผูกพันที่เคยมีต่อกันทำให้หญิงสาวใจอ่อนตัดใจจากวราพงษ์ไม่ขาด ทศสืบหาตัวบุปผชาติจนตามมาเจอที่คอนโดแห่งนี้ เขาเห็นเธอเดินลงมาส่งวราพงษ์ เข้าใจผิดว่าสองคนมาเช่าห้องอยู่ด้วยกันแล้ว
ทศคิดได้ว่าเขาควรทำอะไรสักอย่างเพื่อแยกบุปผชาติ และวราพงษ์ออกจากกันให้ได้ เพื่อช่วยน้องสาว และหลานที่กำลังจะเกิดขึ้นมาให้มีครอบครัวที่สมบูรณ์ และที่สำคัญที่สุดเขาไม่อาจปฏิเสธหัวใจตัวเองได้เลยว่า เขาหวงแหนบุปผชาติ และไม่อาจทนเห็นผู้หญิงคนนี้ตกเป็นเมียน้อยของน้องเขยตัวเอง แต่บุปผชาติเป็นคนดื้อรั้น และเอาแต่ใจ เขาจะเปลี่ยนหัวใจเธอได้อย่างไร ??
ชัย (วิชญ จารุจินดา) เพื่อนสนิทของทศ คุ้นเคยกับครอบครัวของบุปผชาติเป็นอย่างดีเป็นผู้ที่ช่วยให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับครอบครัวของบุปผชาติแก่ทศ ทศจึงตัดสินใจบุกไปพบนายพลเริงศักดิ์บิดาของบุปผชาติในทันที พร้อมรับสารภาพอย่างลูกผู้ชายว่า ตนเองได้รู้จักกับบุปผชาติโดยบังเอิญ ความมึนเมาด้วยกันทั้งคู่ทำให้เกิดได้เสียกันในคืนนั้น เขาจึงมาเพื่อแสดงความรับผิดชอบด้วยการขอแต่งงานกับลูกสาวคนเล็กของนายพลฯ อย่างลูกผู้ชาย นายพลเริงศักดิ์ชกหน้าทศด้วยความแค้นเคือง และจะแจ้งความดำเนินคดีกับทศให้ถึงที่สุด แต่บุศยาภรณ์ลูกสาวคนโต รีบห้ามปรามไว้เพราะเกรงว่าน้องสาวจะเสียชื่อเสียง นายพลจึงตวาดไล่ทศออกจากบ้านไป
ทศไม่ลดละความพยายาม ไปขอร้องให้คุณเรือง (อนุสรณ์ เดชะปัญญา) พ่อของชัยซึ่งรู้จักกันดีกับนายพลฯ ไปทำหน้าที่สู่ขอบุปผชาติ
ท่านนายพล และคุณหญิงฯ กำลังร้อนใจเรื่องความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบุปผชาติกับวราพงษ์ เพราะรู้จากลูกสาวคนโตว่า บุปผชาติไปเช่าคอนโดอยู่เพียงลำพัง นายพลฯ กลัวว่าลูกสาวจะแอบอยู่กินกับวราพงษ์ในฐานะภรรยาน้อย ขณะกำลังกังวล และหมดหนทางอยู่นั้น คุณเรืองก็มาสู่ขอบุปผชาติให้ทศและหว่านล้อมให้นายพลฯ คิดได้ว่า ไหนๆ ข้าวสารก็กลายเป็นข้าวสุกแล้ว การให้บุปผชาติแต่งงานกับทศ ย่อมดีกว่าปล่อยลูกสาวไปเป็นเมียน้อยชาวบ้าน ต้องระทมทุกข์ชั่วชีวิต
(อีกทั้งนายพลรู้จากคุณเรืองว่า ทศเป็นลูกชายคนเดียวของเพื่อนเก่าแก่ที่เคยสนิทกันมากของนายพลฯคือ คุณสุทน และดาราศรี เจ้าของธุรกิจพันล้าน ทั้งเหมืองแร่ทางใต้ และไร่องุ่นใหญ่โต แต่พ่อแม่ของทศเสียตั้งแต่ทศยังเด็ก ในด้านฐานะของทศก็เพียบพร้อม ที่สำคัญที่สุดคือยังไม่มีพันธะ ทศย่อมมีคุณสมบัติเหนือกว่านายวราพงษ์ ) แต่ปัญหาก็คือ บุปผชาติ ไม่ยอมรับว่าได้มีสัมพันธ์กับทศ และจะไม่ยอมแต่งงานกับทศเด็ดขาด เพราะความรักที่มีต่อลูก นายพลจึงตัดสินใจเลือกทางที่จะให้บุปผชาติไปอยู่กับทศที่ไร่องุ่น ส่วนคุณหญิงต้องทำใจแข็งเพื่ออนาคตของลูก
บุศยาภรณ์ทำตามแผนของบิดา ด้วยการชวนบุปผชาติไปดูที่ดินในต่างจังหวัด โดยอ้างว่ามารดาอยากซื้อที่ตรงนี้ไว้เพราะเป็นแปลงที่สวยมาก บุปผชาติยินยอมไปเป็นเพื่อน แต่เมื่อเดินทางไปถึงกลับกลายเป็นไร่องุ่นของทศ บุศยาภรณ์ตัดใจทิ้งน้องไว้ที่นี่ ก่อนหนีกลับกรุงเทพฯ ด้วยน้ำตา ปผชาติโกรธมาก และเสียใจเมื่อรู้ว่าพ่อแม่ และพี่สาวรู้เห็นกับทศ จึงแผลงฤทธิ์ด้วยการอาละวาดขว้างปาข้าวของในกระเป๋าเสื้อผ้าของเธอ จนเกลื่อนไปทั่วห้อง แต่ทศไม่ว่าอะไร กลับช่วยจัดเสื้อผ้าใส่ตู้ให้อย่างดีจนบุปผชาติแปลกใจ แต่ก็ยังไม่ยอมแพ้ทศง่ายๆ
ระหว่างอยู่ที่ไร่องุ่น ทศต้องอดทนกับความเอาแต่ใจ และหยิ่งผยองของบุปผชาติ ที่คอยแกล้งให้เขาหัวปั่นอยู่ตลอดเวลา แถมยังต้องคอยระวังไม่ให้เธอหลบหนีออกจากไร่ไปได้ และยื่นคำขู่ว่าถ้าเธอคิดหลบหนี หรือพูดเรื่องเขาฉุดเธอกับคนอื่นๆ เขาจะนำเรื่องที่เธอเมามายจนเสียตัวให้เขา ประจานไปให้ทั่ว
แม้บุปผชาติจะแสดงท่าทีเกลียดชังเขาหนักข้อขึ้นทุกที แต่ชายหนุ่มกลับยิ่งรักเธอมากขึ้น และคอยหึงหวงเมื่อคิดว่าบุบผชาติแอบคิดถึงวราพงษ์คนรักเก่า
ระหว่างนี้ นายพลเริงศักดิ์ ได้รู้ความจริงว่า ภรรยาของวราพงษ์ก็คือน้องสาวของทศ นายพลโกรธจัดที่โดนทศปกปิดความจริง จึงเรียกตัวทศมาพบถึงกรุงเทพฯ ทศยอมรับผิดโดยให้เหตุผลว่าถ้าทุกคนรู้ว่าวิธนีคือน้องสาวเขา นายพลคงไม่ยอมยกบุปผชาติให้อย่างแน่นอน แต่เขายืนยันหนักแน่นว่ารักบุปผชาติจริง นายพลจึงยกโทษให้เพราะเชื่อสายตาตัวเองว่าทศคือลูกผู้ชายตัวจริงคนหนึ่ง
การปรากฏตัวของใบตอง (คีตภัทร อันติมานนท์) ลูกสาวของประสิทธิ์ (ตฤณ เศรษฐโชติ) นักธุรกิจค้าไวน์ในท้องถิ่น ทำให้บุปผชาติเกิดความคิดที่จะเป็นแม่สื่อแม่ชักให้ใบตองกับทศ เพราะเธอสังเกตเห็นว่าใบตองชื่นชอบทศ และแวะมาเยี่ยมเยือนทศอยู่เสมอ ใบตองแอบเกลียดชังบุปผชาติเมื่อรู้จากปากทศว่า บุปผชาติเป็นคนที่ทศจะแต่งงานในอีกไม่ช้า บุปผชาติเองก็หลงไว้ใจใบตอง จนบางครั้งเผลอระบายความในใจเรื่องคนรักเก่า และสารภาพว่าเธอไม่ได้รักทศเลยแม้แต่น้อย แต่ก็ไม่กล้าเล่าว่าโดนทศฉุดมา
ความเป็นหญิงที่สุภาพเรียบร้อย พูดน้อย และจิตใจดี ทำให้บุปผชาติ และทศดูไม่ออกเลยว่า ใบตองซุกซ่อนความร้ายกาจไว้ภายใน เธอวางแผนกลั่นแกล้งบุปผชาติหลายอย่างเพื่อให้ทศเข้าใจบุปผชาติผิด จนเกิดความระหองระแหง ปั้นปึ่งใส่กันหลายครั้ง แต่ด้วยความรักที่ทศมีต่อบุปผชาติ เขาก็ต้องเป็นฝ่ายงอนง้อเธอทุกคราวไป ความดีของทศทำให้บุปผชาติเริ่มหวั่นไหว และรู้สึกหัวใจแปลบๆ เวลาที่เห็นทศแสดงความสนิทสนมกับใบตองเพื่อประชดประชันที่เธอพยายามผลักไสเขาให้คนอื่น
ส่วนทศเอง ก็ไม่อาจเสแสร้งฝืนใจรักใบตองได้ จึงปฏิเสธใบตองอย่างละมุนละหม่อมว่าเขารักใบตองแบบน้องสาวคนหนึ่งเท่านั้น ใบตองเสียใจอย่างรุนแรง ด้วยความรักที่มีต่อทศ เธอจึงตัดสินใจจ้างไอ้เม่น (ธรรมลักษณ์ ตระกูลโชคดี) คนงานในไร่ ฉุดบุปผชาติไปข่มขืน แต่ทศตามมาช่วยได้ทันเวลา ส่วนไอ้เม่นหลบหนีไปได้
ทศเฝ้าดูแลบุปผชาติซึ่งล้มป่วยเพราะพิษไข้ ความห่วงใยของทศทลายกำแพงแห่งความเกลียดชังของหญิงสาวจนพังทลาย บุปผชาติเริ่มรู้ตัวว่า เธอลืมวราพงษ์จนสิ้นเมื่อได้อยู่ใกล้ชิดกับทศ บัดนี้บุปผชาติมั่นใจแล้วว่า เธอรักผู้ชายคนนี้
ในวันที่บุปผชาติ ตัดสินใจจะตอบตกลงแต่งงานกับทศ และเริ่มต้นชีวิตใหม่ด้วยกัน ใบตองสืบรู้ว่าคนรักเก่าของบุปผชาติก็คือ สามีของน้องสาวทศ จึงส่งข่าวให้น้องสาวทศรู้ ว่าทศพาผู้หญิงแปลกหน้ามาซุกซ่อนไว้ที่ไร่ ถึงขนาดจะแต่งงานด้วยกัน วิธนีซึ่งหวงแหนพี่ชายอยู่แล้ว รีบสั่งให้วราพงษ์พาเธอเดินทางมาที่ไร่ในทันที
การปรากฏตัวของวิธนี และวราพงษ์ เหมือนสายฟ้าฟาดกลางใจบุปผชาติ เธอได้ยินการทะเลาะกันระหว่างวิธนีกับทศ วิธนีต่อว่าพี่ชายที่มาวุ่นวายกับคนที่เธอเกลียด แต่ทศกลัวน้องสาวโรคหัวใจกำเริบจึงพยายามอธิบายให้น้องสบายใจว่าที่ไปยุ่งเกี่ยวกับบุปผชาติ เพราะต้องการกีดกันผู้หญิงคนนี้ออกจากวราพงษ์ บุปผชาติเสียใจหนักวิ่งร้องไห้หนีออกจากไร่ วราพงษ์ตามไปทันรีบอาสาพาบุปผชาติกลับกรุงเทพฯ วิธนีแทบคลุ้มคลั่งที่รู้ว่าสามีไปกับบุปผชาติ ความยุ่งยาก รอทศอยู่เบื้องหน้า ผู้หญิงใจแข็งอย่างบุปผชาติจะยอมให้อภัยเขาหรือไม่
ที่กรุงเทพฯ บุปผชาติขอให้วราพงษ์เลิกยุ่งเกี่ยวกับเธอ และกลับไปหาครอบครัว โดยไม่กล้าบอกว่าเธอรักทศแต่วราพงษ์ก็ยังคงเห็นแก่ตัว ไม่ยอมเลิกกับบุปผชาติ ใช้ลูกตื้อว่าถึงไม่ได้อยู่ด้วยกัน ก็ขอได้พบได้คุยกันบ้าง บุปผชาติใจอ่อนสงสาร ยินดีจะคบกันแค่เพื่อน
บุศยาภรณ์ รู้ข่าวว่าน้องสาวหนีกลับมากรุงเทพแล้ว รีบพาแม่ไปหา ความสงสารแม่ทำให้หญิงสาวโกรธแม่ไม่ลงเรื่องทศ แต่ก็ไม่อยากกลับบ้านเพราะไม่พอใจที่พ่อร่วมมือกับทศ และมองความรักความปรารถนาดีของพ่อเป็นเรื่องของการห่วงชื่อเสียงของตนเอง นายพลรู้ข่าวว่าแผนล้มเหลว จึงยื่นคำขาดให้ทศต้องหาทางแต่งงานกับบุปผชาติให้เร็วที่สุด
ทศ ตามงอนง้อบุปผชาติ แต่ไม่สำเร็จ ขณะเดียวกันวราพงษ์เกิดรู้ความจริงว่า วิธนีไม่ได้ตั้งท้องจริง ที่ผ่านมาเป็นแค่คำหลอกลวงเพื่อหาทางผูกมัดเขาเท่านั้น วราพงษ์โกรธมากประกาศขอเลิกกับวิธนีและคิดกลับไปขอคืนดีกับบุปผชาติ วิธนีหัวใจวายถูกส่งตัวเข้าโรงพยาบาล
วราพงษ์ รีบมาแจ้งข่าวดีกับบุปผชาติ ว่าเขาตัดสินใจจะหย่าขาดกับวิธนีแน่นอนแล้ว ขอคำมั่นจากบุปผชาติให้ตกลงแต่งงานกับเขา บุปผชาติเกิดความสับสนขอเวลาคิดดูก่อน เธอตัดสินใจแอบไปดูอาการป่วยของวิธนี แต่ความจริงแล้วอยากเห็นหน้าทศมากที่สุด วิธนีพอเห็นหน้าบุปผชาติ รีบร้องห่มร้องไห้น่าสงสาร อ้อนวอนขอวราพงษ์คืน ถึงกับจะคุกเข่าขอร้องบุปผชาติ จนต้องถูกส่งตัวเข้าห้องฉุกเฉินอีกครั้ง
ทศ คิดว่าบุปผชาติมาหาเรื่องวิธนี เขาด่าทอเธออย่างเจ็บแสบ และกล่าวหาว่าเธอเป็นคนทำให้ครอบครัวของน้องสาวเขาแตกแยก แต่แล้วคำตอบของบุปผชาติทำให้ทศถึงกับหัวใจหยุดเต้น
บุปผชาติประกาศตกลงแต่งงานกับทศ เธอปรารถนาให้วราพงษ์ตัดใจจากเธอ และกลับไปทำหน้าที่ดูแลภรรยาที่กำลังเจ็บหนัก บุปผชาติรู้สึกสุขใจเป็นครั้งแรกในชีวิตที่ได้รู้จักคำว่าเสียสละทำเพื่อคนอื่น เธอกลับบ้านไปกราบขอโทษพ่อ ความสงบสุขกลับคืนสู่ครอบครัวของบุปผชาติอีกครั้ง ส่วนวราพงษ์เสียใจอย่างหนักเมื่อรู้ว่าบุปผชาติจะแต่งงานกับทศ แต่ข่าวการป่วยหนักของภรรยาก็ทำให้เขาไม่อาจทอดทิ้งไปอย่างคนแล้งน้ำใจได้
หลังการแต่งงาน ทศ และบุปผชาติ พาวิธนีมาพักรักษาตัวฟื้นฟูสุขภาพที่ไร่องุ่น วราพงษ์ต้องรับผิดชอบดูแลงานของทศทางกรุงเทพฯ แต่ก็ยังหมั่นเดินทางไปคอยดูแลภรรยาบ่อยครั้ง ความโลเลของวราพงษ์ทำให้เขาอดใจไม่ไหวพยายามเข้าไปพัวพันกับบุปผชาติ จนทำให้ทศเกิดอาการหึงหวงบุปผชาติ เพราะบุปผชาติแม้จะยอมแต่งงานด้วย แต่ไม่ยอมนอนเตียงเดียวกับทศ เพราะยังคาใจคิดว่าทศแต่งงาน เพราะช่วยน้องสาว ส่วนทศก็น้อยใจที่บุปผชาติยืนยันตลอดเวลาว่าแต่งงานกับเขาเพราะไม่อยากถูกคนประณามว่าเป็นฆาตกรทำให้วิธนีหัวใจวายตาย ชีวิตคู่ของคนทั้งสองเกิดรอยร้าวมากขึ้นเรื่อยๆ เมื่อใบตองก้าวเข้ามาเป็นตัวยุแยง
บุปผชาติ พยายามเอาใจใส่วิธนีด้วยความห่วงใยเหมือนอยากจะชดเชยความผิดที่เคยทำร้ายหัวใจวิธนีโดยไม่ตั้งใจ แรกทีเดียววิธนีเริ่มใจอ่อนเพราะเริ่มสังเกตเห็นความรักที่พี่ชายมีต่อบุปผชาติ แต่เมื่อโดนใบตองยุแหย่ใส่ร้ายบุปผชาติว่าพยายามยั่วยวนวราพงษ์ วิธนีหลงเชื่อจึงแกล้งสำออยให้พี่ชายเห็นว่าพี่สะใภ้เกลียดชังตน และคอยกลั่นแกล้งตนตลอดเวลา อีกทั้งคอยเป่าหูทศว่าบุปผชาติยังรักวราพงษ์อยู่ อ้อนวอนให้พี่ชายหย่ากับบุปผชาติ เพราะเธออยากให้ใบตองมาเป็นพี่สะใภ้มากกว่า
วราพงษ์เบื่อหน่ายวิธนีที่อารมณ์ฉุนเฉียว และหาเรื่องหึงหวงตลอดเวลา จึงระเบิดอารมณ์ทะเลาะกับวิธนีรุนแรง สุดท้ายวิธนีโกรธจัดจนเป็นลมต้องเข้าโรงพยาบาลอีกครั้ง แต่ครั้งนี้ทุกคนได้รับข่าวดีว่าวิธนีตั้งครรภ์ ทศจึงขอร้องให้วราพงษ์อดทนเพื่อลูกที่กำลังจะเกิดมา และที่สำคัญที่สุดบุปผชาติยอมเปิดใจ สารภาพกับวราพงษ์ว่าเธอมั่นใจแล้วว่ารักทศ และไม่คิดรักใครได้อีก ขอร้องให้วราพงษ์เริ่มต้นชีวิตใหม่สร้างครอบครัวที่มีความสุข เหมือนอย่างที่เธอตั้งใจเช่นกัน วิธนีแอบได้ยินโดยบังเอิญจึงเลิกคิดแค้นต่อบุปผชาติ และนำไปสู่การตัดสินใจที่เด็ดเดี่ยว
ความรักที่มีต่อลูกเปลี่ยนหัวใจที่รุ่มร้อนของวิธนีให้เกิดสติ วิธนีขอหย่ากับวราพงษ์ด้วยเหตุผลว่าเธอไม่อยากให้ลูกเกิดมาเห็นพ่อแม่ไม่รักกัน วราพงษ์ไม่ได้รักเธอ อยู่ร่วมกันต่อไปจะส่งผลเสียต่อลูกในอนาคต ทศ และบุปผชาติพยายามทัดทานแต่ไม่เป็นผล ทศจึงขอให้แยกกันอยู่สักระยะ ถ้าวิธนีสามารถอยู่ได้ จึงค่อยหย่าขาดจากกัน แรกทีเดียววราพงษ์เต็มใจแยกทาง แต่หลังจากเขาไม่เจอหน้าวิธนี และเป็นห่วงลูก ทำให้รู้สึกขาดอะไรบางอย่างในชีวิตไป สุดท้ายวรพงษ์ก็ได้คำตอบให้ตัวเองว่า วิธนีคือความผูกพันที่เขาไม่อาจตัดขาดจากชีวิตได้ เขาจึงกลับไปงอนง้อวิธนี แต่คราวนี้วิธนีกลับใจแข็งไม่ยอมคืนดีง่ายๆ เพราะคิดว่าวราพงษ์คิดคืนดีเพราะลูกเท่านั้น ทำให้บุปผชาติต้องคอยเป็นกองกำลังสนับสนุนช่วยเหลือวราพงษ์หาทางให้วิธนีใจอ่อน มีการแอบปรึกษากัน ให้กำลังใจกัน ให้ทศแอบเห็นหลายครั้ง
จุดนี้เอง ใบตองเอามายุแหย่ให้ทศเข้าใจผิดว่าบุปผชาติกับวราพงษ์จะหวนมาคบกันความพยายามของวราพงษ์เป็นผลสำเร็จ เขาสารภาพรักวิธนีในวันที่เธอคลอดลูก เธอจึงยอมให้อภัย ใบตองเห็นเหตุการณ์นี้ ยิ่งหวาดกลัวว่าตัวเองจะสูญเสียทศไปในไม่ช้า ใบตองจำเป็นต้องจัดการบุปผชาติขั้นเด็ดขาด!!ด้วยการฆ่าวิธนี ใบตอบเชื่อว่า…ถ้าไม่มีวิธนี วราพงษ์จะต้องกลับไปหาบุปผชาติอย่างแน่นอน
แผนร้ายเกิดขึ้นในวันที่ทศกับวราพงษ์ต้องเข้าเมืองไปคุยธุรกิจไวน์กับพ่อของใบตอง ใบตองปรากฏตัวในห้องวิธนี แกล้งทำทีจะบีบคอเด็กให้ตาย วิธนีเข้าไปยื้อแย่งจนหัวใจวายเสียชีวิต แล้วใส่ร้ายป้ายสีว่าตนเองเข้ามาเห็นวิธนีกับบุปผชาติทะเลาะกันเรื่องวราพงษ์ จนเห็นวิธนีล้มฟุบลง
การตายของวิธนี สร้างความสะเทือนใจให้ทศอย่างรุนแรง เขาไม่เชื่อว่าผู้หญิงจิตใจดีงามอย่างใบตองที่รู้จักมายาวนานจะสร้างเรื่องโกหกดังที่บุปผชาติยืนยัน ความสับสนดังกล่าวทำให้ทศเก็บตัว และหมางเมินกับบุปผชาติ ความหยิ่งทะนงทำให้บุปผชาติขอหย่า แต่ทศไม่ยินยอม อ้างว่าจะไม่ยอมให้บุปผชาติสมหวังกับวราพงษ์ให้เป็นขี้ปากชาวบ้านเด็ดขาด หากแท้ที่จริงแล้ว…ทศไม่อาจทนสูญเสียบุปผชาติได้
วราพงษ์ขออนุญาตทศพาลูกไปอยู่เมืองนอก แถมยังแอบได้ยินบุปผชาติปรับทุกข์กับพี่สาวที่แวะมาเยี่ยมเยือนว่าอยากไปเรียนต่อ ทำให้ทศคิดไปเองว่าวราพงษ์กับบุปผชาติจะไปอยู่ต่างประเทศด้วยกัน ทศพยายามตัดใจจากอดีตภรรยา ยอมตกลงหย่าให้บุปผชาติเพื่อให้คนรักได้สมหวัง แม้ตัวเองจะต้องเจ็บปวดมากเท่าใดก็ตาม เขาก็รู้ว่าการตายของน้องสาวคงไม่สามารถทำให้รอยร้าวในหัวใจของเขากลับมาเหมือนเดิมได้อีก
ในวันที่บุปผชาติเดินทางออกจากไร่เพียงลำพัง ทศหมกตัวอยู่ในไร่ เขาเจอกับไอ้เม่นอดีตคนงานที่เคยฉุดบุปผชาติไปข่มขืน มันย้อนกลับมาตัดองุ่นในไร่ และถูกคนงานจับตัวได้ ทำให้ทศรู้ว่าตัวบงการที่จ้างคนงานมาทำร้ายบุปผชาติ และฆ่าน้องเขา ก็คือ ใบตองนั่นเอง
ทศ แจ้งความจับใบตอง แต่ใบตองไหวตัวทันหลบหนีไปเจอกับบุปผชาติในระหว่างเส้นทางเข้าเมือง ใบตองไม่มีอะไรจะสูญเสียอีกแล้วเธอชักปืนที่ขโมยมาจากบิดาจะยิงบุปผชาติ ทศ และศุภชัยพ่อของใบตองตามมาช่วยได้ทันเวลา ใบตองยอมมอบตัวกับตำรวจเพราะน้ำตาของพ่อที่อ้อนวอนลูกด้วยความรัก และโทษว่าเป็นความผิดของตัวเองคนเดียวที่คอยบังคับใบตองในทุกเรื่อง (ศุภชัยชอบดูถูกลูกตัวเองว่าโง่ และไม่เอาไหนโดยเฉพาะเรื่องทศ)
หลังมรสุมร้ายผ่านไป ทศพาบุปผชาติมาอยู่ที่ไร่องุ่นอีกครั้ง แต่ครั้งนี้บุปผชาติมั่นใจว่า.วงเวียนหัวใจที่แสนสับสนของเธอ จะมีเขาเป็นจุดศูนย์กลางที่ทำให้ชีวิตรักเปี่ยมด้วยความสุขที่แท้จริง
